The Council are pleased to have been able to install a new street lamp in the Recreation Ground, at its northern entrance, and a new litter bin next to the bus shelter in Bedford Road West. Gigaclear

Gigaclear have now started their trenching works in the village.Every house in the village should already have received a letter from Gigaclear giving information about the works which they are now carrying out. They have also supplied a short article which is being published in the June edition of the Village Newsletter. Their "Frequently Asked Questions" leaflet can be viewed here.

Neighbourhood Watch Meeting Monday 11th March

The Yardley Hastings Neighbourhood Watch Group will be holding an Open Meeting in the Memorial Hall on Monday 11th March at 7.30pm to publicise and promote the new "Neighbourhood Alert Community Messaging" service. The Agenda can be viewed here.

Following the traveller incursion into the Recreation Ground in August of last year the Parish Council decided that as well as replacing the wooden five-barred gate it would be appropriate to install a low-level vehicle security barrier. Recreation Ground - Damage to the main gate

Most residents will already be aware that there was an unauthorised encampment on the Recreation Ground for a few days in the week beginning Monday 6th August. Following the intervention of bailiffs instructed by the Compton Estate the persons concerned vacated the site on Thursday 9th August. Shop Lane - Latest News

In May 2017 the Parish Council made a formal Application for a "Definitive Map Modification Order" asking that the public right of way which has been enjoyed over Shop Lane by local residents for many years should now be formally shown as a "Public Footpath" on the NCC's Definitive Map. Street Lighting - latest news

Street Lighting  - latest news

Aylesbury Mains have now completed the installation of the thirty seven new 36Watt Lanterns. These have replaced the previous 80Watt Mercury Vapour Lanterns, which should result in a significant annual energy saving. The installation has been made possible by a Community Grant of £10,955 from the South Northamptonshire Council.
